Trophiz, the Elite Prime card game

Trophiz is the platform’s collectible card game, and the one that looks most like it: the cards are athletes, agents, supporters and sponsors, the four families that keep sport alive. You build a 30 card deck, put it into competition, and challenge other players in the Arena.

The four card families

Athletes ♦: Fighting power: it is their value that gets compared. Every athlete also carries a cost for the match: 5 Kŧ for a value of 2, 10 Kŧ for a value of 3, 15 Kŧ for a value of 4, 20 Kŧ for a value of 5, 60 Kŧ for a value of 6, and up to 100 Kŧ for the Royal Athlete. The stronger the card, the more it costs.
Agents ♠: Extra power: a percentage bonus on certain disciplines, or points added straight to the total.
Supporters ♥: Every card in the stands adds 0.5 power to the athlete. An athlete with no supporter at all takes a penalty of 2: the stands count.
Sponsors ♣: Companies that fund the match on top of their usual bonus. The cards of Elite Prime partner companies bring in up to 25 Kŧ each. Four sponsors maximum per deck: the site refuses the fifth.

How a fight is played

The fight plays out on its own, like a match you watch. Cards are drawn one by one and power adds up. When one player goes past the other, the losing cards go to the bench and the champion stays on for the next exchange. Bench full, that is the KO.

The money follows the same rhythm. Each player starts with 50 Kŧ. When an athlete is drawn, their cost is debited; if there is not enough left, the athlete is stamped “unpaid”, goes straight to the bench without playing or scoring, and takes up a place like a beaten athlete. When a sponsor is drawn, their funding is credited at once. This is where the game looks like sport: with no sponsor you still play... but at a clear disadvantage.

The artificial intelligence plays by exactly the same rules: it looks at its next three cards to lay a sponsor at the right moment and avoid, where it can, an athlete it will not be able to pay for. A fight against it does not count towards the ranking; a fight against a real player changes the Elo of both.

Building a good deck

Balance the four families. Athletes bring the power, agents amplify it, supporters add 0.5 each and keep athletes off the bench, sponsors fund. A deck of 30 athletes runs out of breath fast: there is nobody to pay for it and nobody to cheer it on. With only two sponsors, expect about one athlete in three not to make it onto the table.

The company cards

Elite Prime partner companies have their own sponsor card in Trophiz, with their name and their visual identity: the ERM bee robot, the DEERS stag with circuit-board antlers, the La Marianne pizzeria... So the platform’s sponsorship shows all the way onto the field of play. The list of partners is on the partners and sponsors page.

Collection, referrals and premium cards

On sign-up, the player receives the 20 starter cards of the classic edition. Others can be added: cards gifted by a friend, cards from partner editions. Some cards carry a crown 👑: these are the premium cards, added automatically to the collection of Premium accounts and removed when the status ends. Premium status is obtained today through referrals, 7 days free for each friend who signs up, or by decision of the team.
